Wrath of the Gods release info and more

Greetings Blind Illusionists,

So we are sure most of you are wondering, “what the fuck guys? Where’s that new album you mentioned in 2020?”. Well…. fucking covid.

But that's not all. We’ve been on the fence of how to release the new album and we wanted to make sure you will have the opportunity to see it live when we release it and to put it out the right way.

Here’s a large announcement drop to hold you over until we can finally get it into your hands the right way.

Announcement #1: First and foremost…….. Tom Hunting is cancer free!!

Announcement #2: We’ve found a home for the physical album release of “Wrath of the Gods” with the amazing label Hammerheart out of the Netherlands!

Here is some more info on our new home:

“Hammerheart Records was founded in 1995 in The Netherlands.

Within a very short time the label expanded and started to work with bands and names that had an impact in the Metal scene.

Among the bands and artists that Hammerheart Records worked on/with/for were Dismember, Erik Rutan, Primordial, Nightwish, Necrophobic, Chuck Schuldiner, Control Denied, Children of Bodom, Testament, The Gathering, Sadus, Septic Flesh and many more...

Around the year 2005 Hammerheart Records faced some troublesome times, but learned its lessons.

In 2010 Hammerheart Records became fully active again and since 2012 the company has only one owner left.

The owner is Guido Heijnens.

Aside from Hammerheart Records he worked as A&R manager for other labels (signing and discovering Volbeat a.o., Heathen, Thulcandra).

From 2007 until 2010 he was the European manager for Relapse Records and worked on releases by Baroness, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Toxic Holocaust, Jamey Jasta, High on Fire, Death and many more.

The last five years Hammerheart Records has re-launched Pestilence, is busy on doing all releases for the Chicago legends Trouble and is building up and helping bands from the complete Metal spectrum, still with one foot firmly in the underground as well.”

Straight as the Crowbar Flies - The first single of the new album

The first single off our new album (coming soon!); Straight as the Crowbar Flies is out on all streaming services now!

"...a thundering, ground shaking, walls crumbling, tour de force! The opening riffage alone is so savage that anyone stood in its way is gonna get lacerated to the bone. 'Straight As The Crowbar Flies' is a crushing cacophony of old school sounding thrash that is gonna make your mouth water, and ache at the wait for the bands new album,

Overall, a storming return from an eighties San Francisco thrash metal band, 'Straight As The Crowbar Flies' is gonna please old and excite new fans." --frenzyfire.co.uk

All and all this is a great continuation of a great Bay Area thrash metal and I highly suggest that you head over to Spotify and get a listen to the latest single from the Legendary Blind Illusion! --mikevaneksucks

Blind Illusion featured in Bay Area Godfathers Documentary

Another great documentary about the infamous Bay-Area thrash metal scene including Blind Illusion! We are humbled to be included with such amazing bands!

"Danny Shipman, a co-producer of the film, has spent 35 years immersed in this subculture of mosh pits, denim jackets and overdriven guitar tones. He remembers seeing a fresh-faced Metallica in 1985 at the former Kabuki Theater on Post Street (they were touring their second album, “Ride the Lightning”) and digging into the local fanzines of that era.

Through “Bay Area Godfathers,” Shipman is determined to make heavy metal a key part of the conversation about San Francisco’s music movements. He wants to not only introduce viewers to the major acts but also shed light on the underground bands that drove the genre." --Chris Macias - SFchronicle

Blind Illusion featured in Murder In The Front Row Documentary

We are honored to be mentioned it the new documentary: Murder In The Front Row: The San Francisco Bay Area Thrash Metal Story.

"Murder In The Front Row: The San Francisco Bay Area Thrash Metal Story

“It's not just a film about heavy metal. It's about people. It's hard music with a warm, fuzzy beating heart."

Adam Dubin set out to chronicle the ‘80s Bay Area thrash scene in Murder in the Front Row -- an uncensored and boisterous documentary set for release early in 2019. And Murder is certainly a must-watch for hard rock fans; the film contains over fifty interviews with various metal stalwarts (including Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Anthrax, Exodus, Testament and Death Angel), telling its tall tales through a mix of first-person interviews, animation and narration by comedian Brian Posehn.

But first and foremost, “these are just good stories, and they are very human stories,” says Dubin. “And anyone I’ve shown this to, even those who don't really like the music, have really responded to it."

Narratively, MITFR follows the story of a group of young kids in Northern California with a shared passion for heavy rock bands like UFO, Iron Maiden and Motorhead. “All these bands were mainly from England, and they never really toured the West Coast,” says Dubin. “So these young people started creating their own music, starting their own fanzines, booking clubs and trading tapes. These were people who were adamant about music and the bands, but also each other.”
